Home Alone!

I thought to write this section of my blog in blue so that my feelings could be seen as well as described. I am missing my husband and son very much about now. They have been gone to Houston, Texas for a week now. I still have a week plus before I get to see them again. Mark calls me everyday...twice a day usually. So I am not out of touch, just away from touch. I just watched the preaching at the meeting they are at. I spotted them in the audience...so I know they are okay. I sure do miss them.

While my hubby was away, my son-in-law,Dave, hung my Christmas present from my friend Shelly. It is an old window that Dave and Amber found for me in an old house. They gave it to Shelly and she painted it and scratched it up for me to give it the perfect look. She also gave me a gift certificate for my favorite store- Cozy Cottage- and I put that toward the purchase of the wreath that is hanging on the window. I love it...love it, love it!!!!

I have also been reading much more than I have in a long time. Definitely more me time. But I also have been having a blast with my grandchildren. Juddson,18 months, is so fun and lovable. He is learning to talk so well. At times it is quite an accomplishment to decipher just what he is saying. Emma is so smart, that you have to be careful of what you say around her. She is 3 going on 21. She is such a helper to her mommy. Then there is Zane. He is only 4 months old but is smiling and cooing and just making you feel like you are the most important person in the world to him. I love them all so much. I wish I had my two grandsons,Johnny and Alex , here to be with as well, but they live in Idaho now. Hopefully I will get to see them this year when their daddy comes home from Korea.

new grandson

Hello everyone! WOW! I have been so remiss in blogging. I haven't written in three months. Since that time we have had youth camp. It still amazes me that GOd would be so gracious to show up and meet with us. He has really done a work in some of our youth...in particular, some of our young men. IT is a blessing to see them allow God to work and to desire His will. I will try to post a pic or two of camp...not sure if I have any batteries left to open my camera up.
In October, we had our annual missions conference. Our church has raised their pledge for missions this year considerably. What a blessing. A young lady at our church has just finished a "thermometer" so that we can see the progress of the promised money s it comes in. It is exciting to give to the Lord!
Several ladies are planning a trip to the US in a few weeks. We are all excited. Christmas shopping is in the plans...that and just having a good time of fellowship with friends. Doesn't that sound like a blast?! I will try to take some pictures and post them when I get back.
Oh, and last but not least...I have a new grandson. His name is Zane David. He is so precious... a little red head. He was born September 13. He is a very happy baby too! Amber's family is growing so much..and oh!, I almost forgot! Angela and Matt are expecting in July. We will then have six blood grandbabies and three adopted! You'd thind we were old having so many... but no, we are still young and enjoying every one of them tremendously! Better run. Lots to do...as always!

Life is so busy!!

I am preparing camp stuff! For the last two days, my nose has been inthe computer looking up airlines ticket prices and other things. That is how life will be for the next few weeks. Camp is so worth it. The last two years the Lord has met with the teens and we have had GREAT camps. I am eagerly awaiting what the Lord will do this year.
My friend Shelly is in Michigan right now. She gets to see her family and her son that has been in Afghanistan for six months. I am so happy for her. It's funny how you can be so happy for someone and kinds sad at the same time....I miss her. She is my vocalization. She should have been a journalist. She is great at expressing herself and I (on the other hand) am terrible. I am glad the Lord brought her into my life. Not just because she helps me verbalize, but because she and I know each other...and still are great friends-can you imagine that? LOL!
This will be a short entry. I am trying to download pics, but my blog doesn't like the size my computer has them. We will see about fixing that asap. The ext entry will probably be after camp. I will talk to you later.

2010

Well, here we are in the year 2010 already. Where does the time go? I am getting ready to go to Houston in just a few days. While there the three of us-Zach, Mark, and I- will be staying with Matthew and Angela. It will be so nice to see my son again. It has been a year since being with him and his wife. I am looking forward to this trip very much- all except for the flying part.

My goal this year is....to lose weight...duh!! We will see how that turns out. New year resolutions...not fun!!!

family

My son's leave came through and he and his wife and boys have been with us now for almost three weeks. It has been very satisfying to have all of my grandchildren in the same place. I took Johnny to Build a Bear and he got a boy horse. I am trying to make this a tradition with each grandchild when they are around two. Alex has warmed up to us and all the ladies at church. I believe this has been a good visit. I am sure they are ready to go home. Vacations are nice, but it is so nice to be home.

We took a picture at church of all five grandbabies. They are all so different and yet alike. Two year old Emma, the oldest, is a stinker. She is so adorable that when she is naughty I have a hard time not smirking. The next in line is Johnny. He is almost two. He has the most adorable smile surrounded by two of the deepest dimples I have ever seen. Alex, Johnny's brother is next. He looks just like his big brother, except that he has much less hair. The top part of his hair is long and the side parts are still trying to catch up. He has the cutest squeal! Chelsea is one month younger than Alex. She is so delicate. Her most outstanding feature is her long eyelashes. She is a very happy little girl. Last, but not least, is Juddson. he is the last one thus far, but definitely the biggest!!! He is so laid back it is comical at times. He is like a baby trapped inside a man's body! He is so fat he is almost edible!!

That is my list of grandchildren thus far. I love every one of them so much. I have always wanted to have my grandchildren around me. Then we moved to Canada, the kids got married, moved back to the States, and I was resigned to the fact that I would only see them maybe once a year.
Now, my wonderful Savior has brought three of them to me and allowed me to have the other two here for three weeks! I am truly blessed!

Waiting

Waiting is one of the hardest things we have to do, and yet, it is an integral part of our everyday lives. You would think that we would be good at it after much practice...but I am not. Presently I am waiting to hear whether or not my son's leave is approved. He thought it was all worked out and then this morning, they realized he was leaving the country and it was denied because it said he was going overseas. Hello!!! Since when did Canada become overseas? He is trying to work out the problem right now with the head guy at work. Frustrations!!! I am praying that it will be approved. I really would like to see them all...especially my precious little grandsons!! OF course, I want to see my son and daughter-in-law too! I can't believe that waiting is still so hard after all these years!!
